This clump forming native grass can grow up to five feet tall and is drought tolerant. Sand cordgrass is semiaquatic and can be found growing in sand dunes and inland freshwater wetlands. It can also be found growing in non-wetlands. This species can tolerate occasional flooding and can get up to twenty feet wide.
