General info: Carex rosea, commonly called rosy sedge, is a North American native sedge that thrives in medium to dry soil in partial shade. Rosy sedge is found in the eastern U.S. in woodlands and along stream banks. This very unique slender leafed Carex is perfect for an area with dry shade but can also adapt to moist areas. It grows in clumps and has delicate arching foliage.

Landscape Uses: Carex rosea, is a very versatile native sedge. Firstly, it is a great Carex to mass in dry shady areas where other species cannot tolerate. This species will also adapt to more moisture and has a fine distinctive texture. Plant this species in a native wildflower garden or shade garden. Rosy sedge stays pretty low making it a perfect option for the edging of a perennial garden.
