Juncus inflexus (blue arrow rush)

 

General info: Juncus inflexus, commonly called blue arrow rush, is an attractive blue green rush that thrives in moist to wet soils with full sun. This species likes moisture and can grow in standing water up to three inches deep. It can also adapt to dryer conditions once the plant has had time to establish. Blue arrow rush is a low maintenance attractive rush that is semi evergreen in a wide range of environments.

Landscape uses: Juncus inflexus is a very attractive wetland rush. With its appealing color it would be a great accent to any water garden. It could be added to any pond garden and boggy area as well as added the average garden bed. Secondly, this species can also be used in erosion control on moist banks.
