Penstemon digitalis (foxglove beardtongue)

 

General info: Penstemon digitalis, commonly called foxglove beardtongue, is a North American native perennial that thrives in average dry to medium moisture soil in full sun. This clump forming perennial gets about three to five feet tall and does not do well in overly wet areas. Foxglove beardtongue is adorned with tubular light pink to white blooms.

Landscape uses: Penstemon digitalis is a very versatile native wildflower. Firstly, this species striking blooms are excellent attractors of hummingbirds, butterflies, and other pollinators. Plant this native perennial in mass or along the edge of a path. This species blooms could also be used in cut flower arrangements.
