General info: Oenothera speciosa, commonly called evening primrose, is a North American native perennial that thrives in dry to medium moisture soils in full sun. This showy primrose is native to rocky prairies and plains. Be cautious this is a very aggressive spreading perennial. This creeping native is adorned with bright pink blooms with white centers that open in the evening until late morning time when the sun has risen.

Landscape uses: Oenothera speciosa is a very versatile native. Firstly, it could be used in dry rocky areas where it has room to spread freely. This primrose could be an excellent addition to a rock garden. Secondly this species has attractive blooms that attracts lots of pollinators. Which makes this species a great option for a native pollinator garden.
