General Info: Baptisia sphaerocarpa, commonly known as yellow wild indigo, is a North American native perennial that thrives in dry to medium moisture soils in part shade to full sun. This stunning native is drought tolerant and slowly forms expanding clumps. Yellow wild indigo is slow to establish but once established has extensive root systems. This stunning perennial creates upright mounds that can reach up to three feet tall. Yellow wild indigo has a shrubby appearance with ring shaped foliage. The bright yellow blooms are pea shaped and are on vertical spikes creating a very unique look.
