Canna flaccida (golden canna)
General Uses: Canna flaccida, commonly called golden canna, is a North American native herbaceous perennial that thrives in wet to medium soil in full sun. This species is a good shoreline plant for the coast of the southeast and reaches heights up to five feet tall. Golden canna is an emergent plant and can handle some salinity. This native emergent can also be grown in regular soil as long as it has damp feet.
Landscape Uses: Canna flaccida is a great emergent species to mass on shorelines. It will also grow in regular garden beds. Golden canna is vigorous and easy to naturalize.
