General info: Cephalanthus occidentalis, commonly called button bush, is a North American native perennial that thrives in moist soil in full sun to part shade. Button bush prefers consistently moist soils and will even grow in standing water. This species can be sensitive to dry soil and can reach heights up to twelve feet tall. Adorned with uniquely fuzzy white blooms this hardy bush can add nice height and accent any marginal planting.

Landscape uses: Cephalanthus occidentalis is a very hardy low maintenance native species. Commonly found in low woods, thickets, and swamps makes this deciduous shrub great for borders of ponds or low spots with standing water. This bush also attracts hummingbirds, butterflies, and other pollinators to your garden.
