General info: Helianthus debilis, commonly called beach sunflower, is a native North American perennial that thrives in dry to medium soil types. This native wildflower thrives in full sun and is tolerant of salt and wind. It is native to the east coast but can adapt to inland areas. Beach sunflower only reaches heights up to 2 feet tall. Be cautious this wildflower can be an aggressive self-seeder.

Landscape uses: Helianthus debilis would be a great groundcover for sandy areas. Beach sunflower could also be used for any dry wildflower garden or meadow. This native wildflower is planted in mass to help naturalize beach dunes.
