General info: Juncus effusus, commonly called soft rush, is a North American native perennial that thrives in wet soils with full sun. Soft rush is typically found growing in ditches, swamps, and wet pastures. This wetland rush will grow in moist garden areas but preforms best in in standing water. This wetland perennial grows in clumps that reach 20-40″ tall.

Landscape uses: Juncus effusus is best used in boggy areas. Soft rush would be a great addition to edges of ponds or streambanks. This wetland rush can be used to help soil erosion on moist banks. This native rush is a perfect choice for your restoration or stormwater job.
