General Info: Liatris spicata, commonly called blazing star, is a North American native perennial that thrives in average to medium moisture well drained soil in full sun. This native wildflower is a very unique looking species with its tall erect flower stalks holding up a uniquely fluffy purple bloom. It prefers moist soils and is also tolerant of heat and humidity. Blazing star is typically found in the wild in moist low spots and meadows.
