General info: Lobelia cardinalis is a North American native herbaceous perennial that thrives in rich medium to moist soils in full sun to partial shade. Cardinal flower can reach heights up to 3 feet tall and is very intolerant to dry soil.

Landscape uses: Lobelia cardinalis commonly called cardinal flower for its striking scarlet red blooms would be an excellent addition to any water garden, rain garden, or wet meadow. This plant is also a wonderful attractor of butterflies and hummingbirds.
