Rudbeckia laciniata (cutleaf conflower)
General info: Rudbeckia laciniata, commonly called cutleaf coneflower is a North American native perennial that thrives in medium well drained soil in full sun to partially shaded areas. Cutleaf coneflower, also called tall coneflower, features yellow daisy like blooms and tends to spread aggressively. This perennial can tolerate heat and humidity and can get up to nine feet tall in the wild. Cutleaf coneflower is typically found in moist thickets, along riverbanks, and woodlands.
Landscape uses: Rudbeckia laciniata spreads so aggressively, so be cautious of using this perennial along borders. This striking perennial would be a great addition to a meadow or native wildflower garden with lots of extra space. Cutleaf coneflower would also be excellent for any area that stays moister like the borders of a stream bank or other body of water.
