General info: Solidago speciosa, commonly called Showy Goldenrod, is a North American native perennial that thrives in dry to medium soil in full sun. This tough native perennial can tolerate drought and poor dry soils. Showy goldenrod can get up to two to three feet tall. This goldenrod gets its namesake because it is the showiest of all the goldenrods. Showy goldenrod has beautiful clusters of tiny yellow flowers that bloom in mid to late summer.

Landscape uses: Showy Goldenrod is an excellent perennial for a wildflower meadow and native plant garden. This versatile perennial is great for attracting bees and butterflies to your yard making it wonderful for a butterfly garden. Showy Goldenrod could also be used in naturalized areas.
